Elvenstar IEA riders at the 2015 IEA National Finals

Four of Elvenstar’s IEA members headed to Kentucky Horse Park, in Lexington, KY, in April with Coach Kaycee Kurtze Bischoff, to compete in Interscholastic Equestrian Association National Finals.  The riders were Kayla Lott, Brandon Carreon, Maggie Robertson, and Julia Nickl. All four riders did a great job and made our teams proud!  A special Congratulations to Kayla Lott, who was names 2015-2016 Championship Leading Rider, the highest honor in IEA competition.  This was a fitting end to Kayla’s five year run on our team, which began in our fist season, as she is a graduating Senior this year.  We are really going to miss her!

IEA is a great organization for students grades 6-12.  It emphasizes sportsmanship and horsemanship and brings a team element to an otherwise individual sport.

Riders are not required to own a horse, or even their own take, as these are provided by the hosting teams at shows.  This keeps the cost of competition relatively low.
